RoadBeginner

Cenicero's non-competitive retro classic, for road bikes made before 1989, with an 81 km long route and a 48 km short route that buses cyclists to San Millán de la Cogolla.

Rioja y Pedal

Rioja y Pedal is La Rioja’s retro classic: a non-competitive event in Cenicero exclusively for road bikes manufactured before 1989. Since its first edition it has brought together hundreds of cyclists from across Spain and countries like France, Scotland, Andorra, Chile and Switzerland, all sharing the same philosophy of riding without haste among Rioja’s wineries.

Two routes through Cenicero’s wine country

The long route, 81 km and 1,143 m of elevation gain, loops around Cenicero with start and finish in the town itself. The short route, 48 km, buses participants to San Millán de la Cogolla —a World Heritage Site— to ride back to Cenicero afterwards, with capacity limited to 55 cyclists with bikes.

Cycling without haste, among wineries

Unlike a typical cyclosportive, Rioja y Pedal has no timing or competitive spirit: the goal is to enjoy the route, the area’s wineries and the festive atmosphere organized in Cenicero throughout the weekend, with food and wine events alongside the ride itself.

Cenicero beyond the ride

Cenicero is one of La Rioja’s towns with the highest concentration of historic wineries, very close to Logroño. Use the weekend to visit century-old wineries in the area before or after the event. Discover more events in the region in La Rioja.
