Sierra Nevada Límite Gran Fondo
The Sierra Nevada Límite Gran Fondo is one of Spain’s benchmark high-mountain events: it starts in Cenes de la Vega, on the outskirts of Granada, and finishes at the Sierra Nevada ski resort, at 2,100 m altitude, on the highest range in the Iberian Peninsula. The name doesn’t lie — “límite” (“limit”) sums up well what finishing its 146 km takes.
A route of 146 or 114 kilometers
The race offers two distances, 146 and 114 km, sharing the final section: the climb up to Pradollano, with sustained ramps that test both endurance and pacing. With 3,200 m of elevation gain on the long route, it’s one of the most demanding Gran Fondos on the Andalusian calendar in terms of climbing, comparable to the great Alpine events.
Mainland Spain’s highest mountain range
Sierra Nevada is home to Mulhacén and Veleta, the highest peaks outside the Canary Islands, and offers a microclimate that lets riders pedal in May with snow still visible on the highest summits. That combination of Mediterranean heat at the start and mountain cold at the finish is part of what makes this race unique.
Granada beyond the ride
Less than 30 minutes from the start, Granada offers the Alhambra, one of Spain’s most visited monuments, and the Albaicín neighborhood, a World Heritage Site. Round out the experience with Granada’s cuisine, famous for its free tapas with every drink. Discover more events in the region in Andalusia.

Components for the Sierra Nevada Límite
With 3,200 m of elevation gain and a final climb that gives no respite up to 2,100 m, training and racing with a power meter helps you pace the effort on a pass where overcooking the early kilometers costs you dearly at the end.

Sunglasses for the Sierra Nevada Límite
