Entering The Traka
The longer distances (200K, Adventure) tend to sell out before the 100K. Registration opens months ahead and there's a waitlist once the quota fills.
Tips
- Decide your distance early, the longer ones sell out first
- Check the cut-off time for your distance before registering
Where to stay in Girona for The Traka
Girona city holds most of the accommodation and is where the start/finish for all distances is located. With thousands of international riders over four days, book well in advance.
Tips
- Book accommodation in Girona city, close to the start
- If you're covering several festival distances, consider staying the full week
Gravel gear for The Traka
Mixed terrain with forest tracks, dirt roads and some tarmac. Punctures are the most common reason for dropping out on the longer distances, especially the Adventure.

Nutrition for The Traka's long distances
On the 560km Adventure, feed logistics matter as much as training: it's over 24 hours of effort for many riders, including night sections.
Guides to get you ready
Tips
- On the Adventure and 360K, carry your own nutrition in addition to official feed stations
- Plan night-time nutrition too if your distance runs into the night
Frequently asked questions
Do all distances race on the same day?
No. In the 2026 edition, the Adventure (560K) and the 360K started on 1 May, the 200K on 2 May and the 100K on 3 May. The exact per-distance dates are confirmed on the official site each edition.
Is it a race or a cyclosportive?
It runs as a race with a mass start and timing, with entries from both pro gravel racers and riders simply aiming to finish. Each distance has its own cut-off time.
What kind of bike do I need?
A gravel bike with at least 40mm tyres is the standard; on the 560km Adventure many riders opt for even wider tyres given the mixed terrain and the many hours on track.
